Attended Burial at Sea & Scattering of Ashes from Carolina Beach NC
Honor your loved one with an attended burial at sea and scattering of ashes aboard the Wild Rover III from Carolina Beach, NC. Captain Dave Tilley and crew provide a dignified, compassionate service where family and friends can gather offshore to say goodbye. We sail 3+ nautical miles out to conduct a personal and memorable burial at sea ceremony, surrounded by the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean.
Our attended burial at sea services depart from Carolina Beach Municipal Marina, serving families from Wilmington, Southport, Kure Beach, and surrounding areas. Your family and guests are welcomed aboard the Wild Rover III, a comfortable 52-foot sportfishing vessel featuring air conditioning, restroom, shaded cabin, and seating for up to 6 passengers.
Once offshore beyond 3 nautical miles, we will conduct your scattering of ashes at sea ceremony with care and dignity. You may say words, offer prayers, and gently release ashes into the sea. Captain Dave can also provide the exact GPS coordinates of the ceremony if desired.
We take great pride in helping families honor their loved ones at sea. Whether you want a quiet, private moment or a shared celebration of life, we will ensure a smooth, respectful, and memorable experience for all aboard.

Real Testimonials from Burial at Sea Families
Here’s what families are saying about their experience with Captain Dave and Wild Rover III Burial at Sea services
“We had a blast. On a whim, we called Capt. Dave from breakfast in our hotel around 9 am on a Wednesday in April. He picked up and said he could take us out at 11 am. We were 30 minutes late, he said no problem. We went out for 4 hrs and decided to change to 6 hrs. No problem. Then Bob and Nolan put us on Mackerel almost the whole time. We limited out and the captain and crew were patient with our 7, 9 and 10 year olds as they caught big fish for the first time. Highly recommend and will be back! Thanks Wild Rover III Crew!!!”
John Koontz“Had one heck of a time with Cpt. Dave and his mate Nolan. Got to see a smile on my dads face. Thank you Cpt for making a memory that will last a life time, one hell of an experience, you sir are one hell of a captain. I would recommend anyone looking to charter a boat give Cpt. Dave a call, he will take care of ya!”
phillip smith“Captain Dave and mate Adam were all about making the fishing fun. It was obvious that they enjoy what they do, are very personable, and know what they are doing. Our 5 hour charter was a blast. All we needed to do was alternate reeling in many nice Spanish mackerels. The Wild Rover III was a comfortable, clean, ocean worthy vessel with all the amenities you need. I intend to rebook with Captain Dave on my next fishing trip.”
